I am too a pet lover and recently my dog was too infected by dog fleas so I was very upset by this fact. I was about to buy a flea medication which was giving some discount but then the vet suggested me some dos and don’ts to buy the right flea medication as not all medications are good for dogs, I share the same with you all.
Things to consider before buying the flea medication
- Weight
The weight of the dog/cat is a main thing to consider. It is better that you measure the weight of your pet and then only buy the right products. In case of dogs the medication are available depending on the size of the pet. So measure the weight of your dog/cat and consult the vet in case you are in doubt and after this only buy the right product.
- Type of pet
The flea medication for cat must be used for cats and the same rule applies to dogs as well. In case you are using the flea, medication meant for cats on dogs then it will cause side effect to the pet. So make sure you take care of this thing very well.
- Treat your pet properly
It is very essential that you maintain the dose of the flea medication very well. This will ensure that your pet is receiving the medicine at the right time.
- Do allow your pet to groom itself after the application of the medicine.
- Do not apply flea medication on puppies and kittens
- In case your pet shows any side effect, please take it to the vet as soon as possible.
