Precautions for Frontline Plus for Dogs

Precautions for Frontline Plus for Dogs Frontline Plus is the best flea and tick control medication that one can get for his pet. It has been proved that this flea control works very well in removing fleas from the body of the pet, but however there are some precautions that one must follow. These precautions must be used so that the medicine does not cause any harm to you as well as to the animal while applying it. I used Frontline Plus for dogs 45-88lbs for my dog and these are some of the precautions that I took while applying Frontline Plus to my dog.
  • Frontline tick control dogs must be applied taking into consideration how your pet reacts to the medicine. Some dogs tend to develop irritation to the medicine, which may be mild to severe so depending on the symptoms consult the vet as soon as possible.
  • You need to observe the pet very carefully to see if it is developing any kind of irritation. Some irritation is common but if it develops too much of it then you need to take immediate action. Wash the dog immediately and take it to the vet.
  • Make sure that the Frontline tick control dogs is not accidentally swallowed by your pet. You have to train the dog in such a way that it does not lick the medicine after being applied. You need to give proper training to the dog.
  • This medicine contains pesticides and they can cause harm to the animal if swallowed. For example Frontline Plus for dogs 45-88lbs contains Fipronil and S-methoprene which are pesticides which may cause diarrhea in your pet. Usually the symptoms will go away in a few days but you still you need to take precaution. It is better that you apply a very mild dose and then notice the possible side effects if any.
In case you have any doubt then contact the vet and ask for his guidance on this before applying the Frontline tick control dogs.
